Jane Lynch Guest Hosting On Maddow Show

What do you call it when two lesbians appear on television to discuss politics? MSNBC. More specifically, The Rachel Maddow Show.

I wouldn't normally share a 10-minute video, but this clip was utterly enjoyable from start to finish. First, Lynch guest anchors the show's "Best New Thing In the World" segment (and does an admirable job), and then Maddow joins the set for a two-woman roundtable conversation about politics.

The discussion includes their reactions to President Obama's same-sex marriage announcement, the value of coming out, and the importance of never underestimating the dorky kids in high school.

The banter is so genuine and personal that it almost feels like you're spying on Maddow and Lynch enjoying a coffee together. All-in-all, a refreshing moment for 24-hour news channel programming.

Dylan Ratigan's Epic Rant - Anger That Inspires

Dylan Ratigan is mad as hell, or at least he was when the on-air meltdown in the video clip below occurred. The MSNBC host's epic rant occurred a few months ago, but I saw this yesterday for the first time and found it to be quite inspired.

Ratigan's genuine and honest moment of rage is refreshing. While overcome with anger, he maintains enough composure to articulate perfectly what most Americans think about the inability of both Republicans and Democrats to make meaningful progress in Washington.

According to Ratigan, Republicans want to "burn the place to the ground" while Democrats only play politics so they can "get through the end of the second term," resulting in legislation that ultimately "screws me and my kids."

The MSNBC journalist rails about government's failure to meaningfully address our national debt, and he unleashes his fury on the corrupt nature of our political system which has allowed the banking and finance industries to exacerbate (if not cause) America's economic morass.

Preach on, brother Ratigan.

Reverend Al Sharpton Joins MSNBC

The Reverend Al Sharpton has joined MSNBC and now hosts a program called PoliticsNation that airs weeknights at 6pm. Excellent, now my dad and other conservatives around the nation have one more reason to never get their news from MSNBC.

NPR reported that "The announcement of his new show sparked criticism from conservatives, but some black journalists also voiced reservations, asking why a black news professional was not selected for the job." 

My question for them...since when has any 24 hour news channel required their on air talent to be an actual "news professional?"
