A California man who posted racist remarks online and urged the assassination of President Obama received a visit and a home search from the Secret Service on Monday.
I find it noteworthy that the culprit chose Facebook as the means to voice his threats, and that the Secret Service gave his comments any credibility. I know threats against presidents are illegal, but I didn't think social media was taken that seriously (or monitored). Maybe this lunatic was already on the radar?The enjoyable irony of the situation is that the Facebook racist was supposedly angry over the National Defense Authorization Act which he considers to be a threat to American civil liberties.
