Why Did the Sea Lion Cross Highway 101?

Who knows why the sea lion chose to cross Highway 101, but on Saturday morning this 150 pound sea lion emerged from San Francisco Bay, cleared a three and a half foot tall concrete median, and then made his way across eight lanes of traffic.

After his rescue, veterinarians described the sea lion as "fatigued. I'm not surprised - that road is no fun for me either. Just saying.

Police did not cite the sea lion, but did scold him saying, "everyone knows I-280 provides a more scenic and less stressful crossing."
