If you need something fun to do this weekend, check out Paul Rudd in the recently released Our Idiot Brother. The film, like the idiot brother Ned (played by Rudd), is sweet, funny, and even a little poignant at times, and I loved it.
Rudd plays Ned, a down-on-his-luck sixties throwback, who finds himself in need of the support of his family after a short jail stint. Ned's simple hippie philosophy of living (be kind, trust others, and do good) wreaks havoc on the lives of various family members who are trying to come to his rescue, but it also makes him lovable and irresistibly charming. This is a silly movie, but it'll leave you smiling and a little more hopeful about the world than you were when you walked in the theater.
